The DEN

THE STATE OF THE BOBCATS

Posted 11/12/19  10:35 am

Dear Bobcat Nation,

I want to give a big shout out to the Girls Volleyball team as they go to Sioux Falls Roosevelt for the SoDak 16 tournament on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm.  We wish them all the best.  They are playing really well at just the right time.  GO BOBCATS!!!

If you haven't heard, the Boys Football team is good.  They are in the State Championship  Game on Friday, November 15 at 12:00 pm (noon).  Events leading up to the game are:

  1. Red Rally at Cubby's on Wednesday, November 13, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm to create signs to decorate the town, put on by the Chamber of Commerce.

  2. Thursday, November 14, rally outside the old fire-station on 4th street after the pregame meal.  The street will be closed off for the event.  Please be there before 6:30 pm to cheer on the team as they leave the meal.

   3.  Game-day Friday, November 15.  Please arrive at the High school at 9:15 am for the send off at 9:30 am when the bus will leave to head to the stadium.  Fans are encouraged to follow the bus and police escort to the stadium.  Immediately after the send off, Cubby's will open at 10:00 am for the pre-game festivities.  Please head down to Cubby's so we can game plan, practice our cheering and have a good time before we head back to the stadium.  There are T-shirts that will be handed out, while supplies last, to the Bobcat fans as they arrive to the game.  The T-shirts are free as many local businesses have stepped up to support our team.  Have fun watching the Bobcats hand the Governors there first loss of the season.  We will await instructions from the parent committee as to what will happen after the game.  We will meet somewhere after the game.

I want to thank the parent committee for lining all this up.  It has been fun to work with the parents of football with these events all season.  I also want to encourage parents of other sports to contact the Backers with your events and we will help any way we can to make it the best event possible to create enthusiasm and bring people to the event.

These events are very special for our kids, our fans, and our community.  It has been a fun season watching these kids compete in all sports.  The education benefits of sports and competition are huge no matter what the outcome is.  Lets get out there as one huge community and support our competitors with as much effort as we can muster!

Go Bobcats!!!
